Maria chats 2013 X Factor winner, Sam Bailey.
2013 X Factor winner, gold selling artist and star of the hit musical Chicago Sam Bailey is bringing her powerhouse vocals to Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts on 9 March with her Sing My Heart Out tour and Weymouth Pavilion on Friday 5th May.
The tour follows the release of her eagerly awaited studio album of the same name. The album has seen Sam collaborating and co-writing with a number of industry professionals, including acclaimed composer and icon Steve Dorff, former A1 band member and singer/songwriter Ben Adams as well as songwriter Shelly Poole.
“For me there’s nothing worse than an album where every song is the same, which is why I have created such an eclectic mix of genres for Sing My Heart Out. There are slow songs, ballads, dance tracks, middle of the range and poppy tracks. My fans range from children to the elderly so with such a wide range of fans I have taken a huge amount of care to create an album that not only provides something for everyone but is also proof of my versatility in the industry” – Sam Bailey.
Sam’s transition through the X Factor competition was seamless, with her amazing voice showcasing on some of the most challenging songs ever recorded she quickly captured the hearts of the nation. Her first single Skyscraper became the Christmas No.1 that year, and her subsequent debut album The Power of Love is the UK’s second fastest-selling female solo album of all time.
Sam Bailey’s rise to stardom was meteoric, but the former prison guard remains adamant that she will never forget her humble roots. With her ever-growing worldwide fan base eagerly anticipating new material, Sam’s new album and tour is once again set to be a huge success.
