Bits & Bobs - The Weymouth & Portland Sewing Bee

This autumn we are hosting a sewing competition for Charity. Why not have a bit of fun and enter your work in one of our sewing categories? The entry fee is £5 per item and all the proceeds go to charity. This year Bits and Bobs’ chosen charity is Hanger’s Heroes.

We have great prizes for each of the 6 categories: Bits & Bobs Vouchers and fabulous fabric prizes. There will also be a prize for the “Best in Show”.

Dorset Wildlife Trust - Halloween lantern walk

Families are invited to the Kingcombe Centre (fancy dress is very welcome) for a free Halloween lantern walk through Kingcombe Meadows, searching for bats, night time wildlife and enjoying the reserve by candlelight, from 6pm – 8.30pm. Dorchester Arts - A Wessex Autumn Fundraiser

Corn Exchange, High East Street, Dorchester, DT1 1HF

Join us for a celebration of the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, taking place at Ashton Farm Barn – a special place you never knew was there; but which you will never forget.

To complement this magical setting, we have created an evening of entertainment that will be a celebration of the senses and a journey of flavours; tasting local ciders, brandy, apple cake, bread, cheeses and meats. Folk musician and story-teller Tim Laycock will provide traditional music and stories; and author Christopher Nicholson will read from his novel Winter – a story of Thomas Hardy and the Hardy Players. Tickets to include a complimentary welcome drink; food and drink tasting.

All profits go to Dorchester Arts.
