The Gaggle of Geese are delighted to be able to sponsor the School Catering Award. It is so important that children are introduced to proper food at an early age. You are what you eat and your formative years are so important. We love employing youngsters, whether it be as a waiter or waitress or a young apprentice in the kitchen and showing them that good food is so important and the enjoyment people get out of eating out is worth all the effort that goes into preparing it.
The press has been awash with horror stories of what schools are making their pupils eat, with many celebrity chefs highlighting the cause for good food. There are now so many schools doing such a good job with their meals, that this should be celebrated and encouraged.
As a pub we have achieved local and national awards for our food and our community involvement. We have reaped great benefit from these awards so it is a great opportunity for us to sponsor such an award to highlight the hard work and dedication of those that are so often hidden behind the scenes and taken for granted.
