Charity Ball To Remember Ella
9:06am 22nd June 2013
The 18th birthday of a promising Dorset horse rider who tragically passed away is being celebrated tonight (22nd June) with a charity ball.
Ella Pallister from Portesham died after being injured in a showjumping event at Kingston Maurward College in January.
Her family & friends - known as Team Pallister - have organised the event to raise money for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and the Wessex Neurological Unit in Southampton.
The Ball will start with a meal, then will be followed by a raffle, an Auction of promises and a live band with dancing. It'll take place at 7.30pm at The Riviera Hotel in Weymouth.
Wessex FM spoke to Ella's Godmother, Mandy Wilkinson, who named some of the brilliant prizes in the Auction of Promises, "A week in Switzerland in a chalet, a walk-on part with Martin Clunes in Doc Martin, a clay shooting lesson from Peter Wilson, the Olympic Gold medallist, and also the British Showjumping Team have donated a big picture with autographs and memorabilia".
Mandy continued to say "It had to be the 22nd, because that would have been Ella's 18th, and she was really looking forward to her birthday. So, you know, we thought we're going to have to do something to celebrate for her."
Tickets are still available from the Kings Arms in Portesham.
