Dorset Site Manager Wins Award For His Work At Poundbury

The buildings in Poundbury have attracted a lot of attention, and now a Poundbury man who helped build them has won an award for his work.
Steve Walker from C G Fry & Son, is a first round winner in the National House Building Council's Pride in the Job Awards.
He was shortlisted from 13,000 entrants for site managing the South West Quadrant in Prince Charles' Model village.
Steve could now win a regional title.
Wessex FM spoke to his Managing Director Philip Fry who said he fully deserves it, "Steve has been at Poundbury since we started in 1993 and his details in terms of quality and finish is second to none and that's been proved by the awards that he's achieved".
Philip continued to say, "I'm immensely proud that we've been involved in the project for now twenty years, and what's even more pleasing is that we're just signing up now for another five years, so it's certainly helping boost teh local economy and keeping housing and the economy going in this part of the South West".
