Reasons To Block Portland Academy Campus Explained

Concerns about traffic, nature conservation, the design of the sports hall and sustainability are the reasons Portland Academy's bid for a £15M campus at Southwell Business Park have been refused by Weymouth and Portland council.

Currently students are on five sites across the island, though this is reducing to four in September.

Principal Alison Appleyard says they are continuing to look at 'how', rather than 'if' they can bring all staff and students together
