Weymouth's RNLI Rescue Lost Crew Suffering from Sea Sickness
1:50pm 4th July 2013
Weymouth's RNLI took to the seas to save a lost crew suffering from sea sickness in the early hours of this morning (4th July).
The volunteer crews were told by the Portland Coastguard at 4am that there was a yacht in trouble near St Albans Head.
They launched their all-weather lifeboat 'Ernest & Mabel' and managed to locate the 'Trumpeter' using direction finding equipment.
The lost yacht was on passage from Southampton to Mevagissey when it suffered engine and rigging failure.
The crew of three were unsure of their exact location because of their sea sickness.
The lifeboat towed the yacht back to Weymouth at around 8am.
