"We Won't Be Responsible" for People Flouting Danger Signs at Weymouth Town Bridge

There are no plans to tighten up access to Weymouth Town Bridge - to deter people from jumping off into the water.
Wessex FM's asked Dorset County Council if they plan to bring in new safety measures, after a man slipped and seriously injured himself in a prank on Sunday.
John Burridge, Dorset County Council's bridge and structures manager, said:
"We strongly recommend against using any parts of bridges as jumping off points. The county council cannot accept the responsibility for individuals who disregard this. There are warning signs on this bridge, explaining the dangers."
