New Hub for Portland Youngsters Opens its Doors!

A new youth café opens on Portland this afternoon (10th July).
Called Active Café, its being run at Easton Methodist Hall.
Young people aged between 11 and 17 will be able to go along, play games and hang out after school.
Youth workers will also be promoting projects and activities running in the local area.
Ben Moss, Youth Worker with The Ripple Effect, will be co-ordinating the project. Ben said "The aim is to create a fun space to encourage relationships and other connections and to build a healthy active community".
Revd Christopher Briggs, Superintendent Minister of the Portland Methodist Circuit, which includes the work of The Ripple Effect said "This is designed to be a new venture which will provide a holistic approach enable young people to engage at a number of different levels".
