River Cottage HQ Back Open After Fire
8:27am 12th July 2013
Just 18 months after a devastating fire at River Cottage HQ, the 17th century barn on the Devon-Dorset border has been restored to its former glory.
A lot of the painstaking work was done by local craftspeople.
'Everyone here at River Cottage HQ responded to the crisis with inspiring energy and positivity,' says River Cottage founder Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
'I am extremely proud of the way the team worked so hard to get things back on track after the fire. And I couldn't be more thrilled with the beautifully restored barn. The rebuilding has allowed us to shape and design the space so that it is an even better venue for the many courses and events we hold at River Cottage. It's such a pleasure to be welcoming our guests again into this stunning space.'
