Condor sails from Weymouth again.
The first passenger service goes this morning (1130) to the Channel Islands since multi million pound repairs to the ferry berth which took 10 months to complete.
Poole's hosted sailings to the Channel Islands and France for the last 18 months, but tourism chiefs in Weymouth were always confident Condor would return.
Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Environment and Sustainability brief holder, Ian Roebuck says at the time they had little choice but to gamble on paying out for the work being done well and quickly enough for the speedy return of services which brought so many visitors into the town
He's paid tribute to everyone involved in the project which has seen what would normally take three years from start to finish, be completed in around a quarter of that time.
Yesterday you may have heard the Condor Vitesse arrive back in Weymouth live here on Wessex FM.
Today Wessex FM will be aboard as she leaves, bound for Guernsey.
