Politicians and Ministers Travel to Dorset for Festival

The Tolpuddle Martyr's Festival gets underway today (Friday 19th July), having attracted top names from the Labour and Trade Union movement.

Veteran politician Tony Benn heads a list of speakers, which includes shadow ministers Sadiq Khan and Maria Eagle, actor Maxine Peake, new TUC geneal secretary Frances O'Grady, Green party leader Natalie Bennett, authors Melissa Benn and Michael Rosen, plus the general secretaries of 4 trade unions.
Dorset's Billy Bragg's providing music on the main stage on Sunday, with ska band The Skints on Saturday night and roots reggae veterans Talisman headlining tonight.

Festival Organiser Nigel Costley says this year's theme is low pay.
