County Show Plan to Give Youngsters "Leg Up" on the Competition
8:22am 30th July 2013
Are you aged between 18 and 25 and have a talent that you think could get you on the career ladder?
Dorset County Show are offering three young people the chance to show case what they have to offer.
The winning candidate will then get a free Trade Stand to perform on.
Any kind of talent is welcome. However, the individual must be within the 18-25 year old age bracket, live in Dorset and should be looking to turn their talent into a viable business.
Sam Mackenzie-Green, Dorset County Show Secretary explains the idea in more detail: 'There's so much young talent in Dorset but we recognise how hard it is, particularly in this current economic climate, for young people to get started in business. The Dorset County Show, which attracts 55,000, visitors per year, provides an extremely valuable vehicle for getting new businesses noticed and out there. We are hoping to get entries from all sorts of talented individuals across the county from farriers, potters, artists, hedge-layers, cake makers or even local bands. The Sky's the limit!'
Nominations are invited via the website here.
Candidates can nominate themselves or nominations can come via third parties.
The nomination must be accompanied with details of age, address, the nature of the entrant's talent and why they are deserving of this opportunity. A form is also available from the Dorset County Show Headquarters in Dorchester.
Entries must be submitted by the closing date of August 19th 2013. Winners will be announced on Friday 23rd August.
The entries will be judged by the Dorset County Show Chairman, the Show Secretary, West Country Cheesemakers, Ford Farm and PR Agency DSouzaPR Ltd.
