Young Man in Hospital with Serious Head Injuries After Weymouth Beach Accident

Portland Helicopter 1

8:26am 30th July 2013

A teenager has been airlifted off Weymouth Beach with serious injuries!

The incident happened yesterday evening (Monday 29th July).

It's understood the 18 year old man suffered spinal injuries after hitting his head on the seabed. He was attempting to dive under a wave into the water, about 15 feet off the shore.

A number of medically trained personnel and lifeguards helped him from the sea before the emergency services alerted.

The teenager, thought to be on holiday in Weymouth, was fitted to a spinal board and airlifted to Southampton General Hospital.
