Danger on the Road, Drunk Driving Still an Issue in Dorset
8:53am 31st July 2013
New figures show that Dorset's drivers are still putting themselves and other road users at risk by drink driving.
101 motorists were arrested during Dorset Police's summer drink drive campaign.
22 people were detained after road accidents.
Additional checks were carried out throughout the county, with a total of 707 breath tests carried out.
Dorset Police Traffic Inspector, Matt Butler said: "There is no safe limit, so anytime that you are going out for a drink you need to plan how to get home without driving yourself."
"I would urge people to call the police if they suspect someone is drink driving."
During the 2012 summer campaign 100 drivers were arrested.
This means there's been no improvement since last year.
Drink drivers should be reported by calling Dorset Police on 101.
