Dorset Watchdog Slams NHS Survey

A consumer watchdog has hit out at the latest NHS Survey that "highly recommends" Dorset County Hospital to patients.
The so called friend and family survey came out on Tuesday (30th July).
Dorchester's Hospital scored highly in the survey which asked patients whether they'd recommend A&E and the wards to friends and family.
But, Dorset Healthwatch says the national NHS test is flawed, claiming research shows some didn't understand the questions.
They want patients to raise any questions or issues they may have with their team.
Bosses say it'll provide more clarity than the "Friends and Family Test".
A spokesperson for local health and social care consumer champions, Healthwatch Dorset, commented:
"Collecting feedback from patients and their families is really important and one of the best ways for the NHS to understand what needs to change and how services could be improved. But the Friends and Family test isn't the best way of doing it.
Research has shown that many patients don't understand the question or why they're being asked it. It's a blunt instrument. Some hospitals already had much better ways of collecting feedback."
