Dorset Police To Improve '101' Service
8:08am 3rd August 2013
Public concerns have forced Dorset police to act to improve it's 1-0-1 service.
There have been recent difficulties answering non-emergency calls promptly due to delays in new recruits starting and the roll out of new technology.
Following discussions between Chief Constable Debbie Simpson and Dorset Police amd Crime Commissioner Martyn Underhill, new telephone operators will be recruited and the Force has agreed to invest in new technology upgrades to ensure contact with the public is improved.
Mr Underhill's said the public's rightly been vocal surrounding this crucial non-emergency service and I have asked the chief constable to step up plans for service improvement.
