Putting on the Brakes, Council Reviewing Dorset Buses

five ways bus info

8:10am 5th August 2013

Bus routes subsidised by Dorset County council are under review.

Cabinet will make a final decision in October over plans to make changes from January next year.

A number of Saturday services operated by Damory may be withdrawn.

There won't be any service between Dorchester and Salisbury at the weekends, despite a new weekday service, including calling at Blandford Camp, during the week.

Among weekday services proposed for the axe are the 103 Dorchester to Bovington and Wareham which currently attracts an average of five passengers per journey.

County say that's a cost per passenger of £ 6.42.
