Dorchester Man Returns From World Transplant Games

Jon Fox

8:04am 6th August 2013

A Dorchester man has just returned from competing in the World Transplant Games in Durban in South Africa.

Jon Fox represented GB in badminton and on the track, getting to the quarter finals of both the singles and doubles whilst running a 5:32 in the 1500m.

Jon, who has won medals at previous transplant games, received a liver transplant 16 years ago and was involved in coaching some of the GB team aswell as competing himself.

He'll be championing the cause of organ donation again this month at the British Transplant Games in Sheffield.

"It is yet another amazing event to help promote life after transplantation and hopefully will encourage more people to join the organ donor register" he told Wessex FM.

Further information on organ donation and transplant sporting events can be found online here.
