Help For Diabetes Sufferers
8:17am 8th August 2013
A new NHS programme for diabetes sufferers in Dorset will be outlined by health officials tonight.
Well over 10,000 Type 1 or 2 diabetics in the county and over a million go undiagnosed in the UK every year.
Local care services for the disease are changing.
Lynwood Newman, is from the West Dorset Diabetes Group who're going to be at the Dorford Centre tonight to talk about changing services.
"We're getting new phrases like clinical commissioning group opposed to primary care trusts as it was known. We're kinda phasing into a new area and there is a lot of areas being taken into consideration. It's unfortunate that diabetes is almost 1 tenth of the NHS budget, that's a scary figure."
Anyone can attend tonight meeting at the Dorford Centre on Bridport Road, Dorchester from 7pm.
