Joy for Weymouth Artist

2:19pm 12th August 2013

A Weymouth artist has won a top prize for her work!

Sally Pinhey from Upwey has been awarded the Russell Cup from the Dorset Art and Craft Association.

It's for her botanical illustration Dock.

She picked up her award at an exhibition in Bovington earlier this month (August).

"I am delighted to have it on my mantelpiece for the next year," says Sally.

"It is a relatively recent addition to the fine Art Section and has now been awarded seven times for botanical art. It is a very fine piece of silver."

The Dorset Arts and Crafts Association, the last surviving association of the Arts and Crafts movement founded in 1907, is still thriving and performing its original function of encouraging arts and crafts.
