Measles Figures Released For Dorset
2:49pm 12th August 2013
The Department of Health is continuing their campaign to repel a major measles outbreak from happening in Dorset.
Monthly data for our area has been released today.
The latest figures show a very, VERY slight increase in measles cases for the Wessex FM area.
In June , just one was reported.
So far this year there has been 3 confirmed cases, that's 1 MORE than last year's total of 2.
The Department of Health has been running what they've called a "catch up programme", giving MMR jabs to as many unvaccinated 10 to 16 year olds as possible in Dorset.
It's after a measles epidemic in Swansea earlier this year.
