A Dorset couple have been jailed after stealing 76 thousand pounds from the woman's family, including one member with a mental health disability.
Jane Martin, who's 51 and 53 year old Steven Collins , from Red Barn Farm in Blandford, took the cash from Martin's mother and brother Vaughan
The judge at Bournemouth Crown Court described the actions of the couple as "a despicable course of conduct".
He said they had seized the opportunity of Martin's mother going into hospital to steal £14,000 from her bank account and disguise it as a loan.
After Martin's mother died and Vaughan had received his inheritance, Martin and Collins removed him from a care home to live in their house, the court was told.
During a 15-month period they then stole £62,000 from his bank account - some of which was spent on motorbikes and cars.
Police described Martin's brother Vaughan as a vulnerable adult who couldn't fend for himself.
Collins, who also faced an extra charge of mistreating a vulnerable adult, was jailed for four years by Bournemouth Crown Court, while Martin received three years.
