Parking Spaces Doubled At Buckham Fair
12:03am 18th August 2013
Martin Clunes hosts Buckham Fair today, hoping visitors will have fewer problems getting to the event, near Beaminster.
Last year diversions as a result of the tunnel closure led some people to spend up to two hours in queues as traffic was routed on a one-way system around neighbouring villages.
This year they've employed traffic management firm Bradsons to help avoid congestion and doubled theamount of parking available this year to 60 acres.
This year access from Beaminster is via Whitcombe Road. Visitors from elsewhere should use directions from the A356 with no traffic able to enter from either Beaminster Tunnel or the Mosterton direction.
The show includes a fairground, dodgems, food aand trade stalls and animal classes.
Martin himself is judging the novelty dog classes and showing his heavy horses, Ronnie and Bruce, featured in a television documentary he made.
