New Website Shows Cancer Rates For Dorset

NHS

(Updated 7:17pm 19th August 2013)

We can now find out how many people have survived or died from cancer in Dorset.

A new website, which can be searched by post-code and contains a range of information including screening and early diagnosis statistics, has been setup by Cancer Research UK.

We've tried it out using a Dorchester postcode - and here's what it's come up with.

When it comes to early diagnoses of cancer over 96% of patients in Dorset see a specialist within 2 weeks - which is higher than the national average.

The number of people who get cancer here is higher than the rest of England - with rates of prostate cancer also higher.

But less of us get lung cancer and if we do we're more likely to survive it.
