Spate Of Burglaries In Weymouth

3:47pm 21st August 2013

Police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of burglaries in Weymouth.

There's been seven since the beginning of August including in Landsdowne Square, Greenhill, Victoria Street, Melcombe Avenue, Emmadale Close, Littlemead and Rodwell Road.

Items taken range from games consoles to large quantities of cash.

Police say most of the victims are elderly.

They're appealing to anyone who may have information about any of the burglaries or may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the areas since the beginning of the month.

They're also highlighting the importance  of making sure windows and doors are kept locked, including sheds and garages, and not to leave valuables including car keys or spare door keys on display.
