Steaming into Dorset and Celebrating a Milestone!
7:38am 28th August 2013
One of the biggest events in Europe is back and it's celebrating it's 45th anniversary today (Wednesday 28th August).
The Great Dorset Steam Fair has rolled into Tarrant Hinton near Blandford.
Yesterday, there was already over 5,000 caravans and tents set-up on the site, with space for 15 thousand more.
Dorset Police are warning us to be prepared for extra traffic on the roads.
Superintendent Mick Rogers said:
"Members of the public should be particularly aware of the potential for Steam Fair traffic on the A354 and the Blandford ring-road from Wednesday 28 August until Sunday 1 September daily between 9am and 11am."
One of the feature attractions this year is the Electric Boy who can apparently survive having 300,000 vaults pumped through his body. He's one of the acts in Dr Hazes Freak Show at the fair.
Dr Haze creator of the show said ' The show was so popular last year we couldn't get everyone in, even though on some days we performed 12 times we were still turning people away, this year we intend to perform more show's and bring an even bigger & shocking x'travaganza''.
