Budding Pilots Needed For Model Plane Challenge
1:01pm 2nd September 2013
Just over 100 years after a full sized glider was built and given its test flight in Dorchester, there's the chance to repeat the event.
Then, Ralph Channon, son of Edward Channon, who owned the Carriage Works in High East Street, constructed it and got it airborne for 100 yards
You'll have to build your own model plane between now and September the 29th when you can attempt to get it airborne at Maiden Castle.
The Model plane challenge has been launched by the Dorchester Community Plays Association, with a range of cash prizes in different categories.
