Bridport Business Owner Warns Over Web Marketing

"Small businesses in Dorset are being targeted and slaughtered by random marketing agencies from around the Country".
That's the warning Bridport local Julian May, who runs an IT business and web design called eJurrasic, wants to get across.
He says some marketing companies are promising high ranking online positions on search engines for cash, but they don't and sometimes actually can't deliver.
We spoke to Julian about his concerns and although he said some companies can deliver, he wanted to stress that if you're going to invest you should be making sure they are, "Moniter it because you're paying for this service and I believe after about three months you should be seeing some results. What I've noticed with some clients is years have gone by, they've been paying hundreds of pounds a month for a service, basically nothing's materialised".
He also added that some companies are providing web addresses but not listing people as the owners of the said address, "The marketing agency or web design company that set up your website address initially, they should have listed you down as the owner of the domain not them, and what this means is that if you in the future should decide you want to sell your business or want to do something else with your website it might be a bit difficult to do that because you don't actually own it."
