Dorset County's responded to a call by the Patients Association for all hospitals to improve services and communiate better with patients.
It follows The Royal College of Physicians saying hospitals should reach out more to the community.
The hospital which serves South and West Dorset says they have a group of senior clinicians looking into the possibility of 7 day working. Their statement went on to say....
'We are looking at reviewing the front door element with specialist acute physicians and supporting this with daily review of all inpatients by medical sub-specialists in cardiac, respiratory, stroke and elderly care medicine.
We already provide radiological services, such as CT scanning and this will be further enhanced.
We do not intend to open up a full, non-urgent service at the weekend but will ensure that no inpatients have a delay in their treatment because it is a weekend."
