Anger over proposed car parking charges in Bridport will be heard as West Dorset MP Oliver Letwin meets town council officials and traders.
County Hall say its worked in Dorchester and Swanage, bringing better traffic circultion and more parking spaces for shoppers.
But Ros Kayes, who's the county councillor for Bridport, says having a street market twice a week which takes up almost the whole of the town centre should make them a special case.
She's told Wessex FM the stalls take up most of the main roads in the town centre..East Street, West Street and South Street and would cause real difficulty for traders.
And she says many of the visitors are elderly who drive in from nearby villages, most of which don't have a regular bus service.
Cllr Kayes is urging the county council to consider treating Bridport as a special case, and decide against introducing the idea there.
