Dorset Teachers Go To Anti-Reforms Rally
8:23am 21st September 2013
Teachers from Dorset will join others from the South West in a rally to protest against government education reforms.
Around 150 members of the NUT and NASUWT, parents and governors are expected to attend the event in Exeter, one of several being held simultaneously around the country.
They're calling on Education secretary Michael Gove to reverse changes he's announced.
Dorset's NUT Divisional Secretary Geoff Cooke told Wessex FM there's great concern over a number of his policies, including the introduction of academies.
He's confident the government will talk to teaching unions about the changes, as the Welsh government did following protests there.
The NUT and NASUWT have October 17th earmarked for strike action.
