Plan To Boost Local Economy

A plan to bost the local economy's been unveiled.

Four draft priorities...Better paid jobs, making town centrew more vibrant,  supporting businesses and improving infrastructure have been highlighted by West Dorset and Weymouth & Portland councils in their 'Priorities for Economic Growth Plan'

The plan's to be considered by business leaders at the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership(LEP) and will be included in their Dorset Growth Strategy, which could unlocl  a share of the Government's £ 2 billion Local Growth Fund.

The government's confirmed  £2 billion will be available nationally from 2015/6 from the local growth fund with Dorset  LEP allocated 47.3 million euros spread  from 2014-2020.

The LEP draws up its growth stategy this autumn.
