Calls for Parking Changes in Dorchester Town
8:26am 24th September 2013
The Dorchester Business Improvement District is asking for a pilot scheme for pay on exit parking in the town.
At the moment, the car parks work the pay and display system but many people say they end up paying more than they need to sometimes and end up having to run back to their car half way through their shopping.
The Dorchester BID are asking West Dorset District Council to consider a 6 month trial of pay on exit parking on Charles Street car park and if it proves successful say they would want it rolled out across Dorchester.
They say they have the support of local businesses who think the current system means people get anxious about their parking ticket and cut shopping trips short.
