Detectives are trying to track down those responsible for torching a car at a farm on the outskirts of Dorchester.
The volvo car was parked outside the property on Bridport Road when it was targeted in what Dorset Police has described as "a targeted" and "dangerous act" that put peoples lives at risk.
It happened overnight sometime between 2am and 3am on Sunday morning (29th September).
The fire was started in the back of the vehicle and caused extensive damage.
Detective Constable Gerald Marchant, of Dorset Police Western CID, said:
"The actions of whoever is responsible have caused the vehicle owner great financial loss and they have been left fearing for their safety.
"The offenders have not only shown a great disregard for another person's property, but also put their own lives and those living nearby at risk.
"The farm is situated near a busy main road, and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this crime take place, saw any suspicious activity prior to it happening, or has information about those responsible to contact police in confidence."
No arrests have been made.
