Mencap Helps Families Plan For The Future

News

10:56am 3rd October 2013

Families of someone with a learning disability who are worried what they’ll do when they’re no longer around can go to a free information event in Weymouth this afternoon.

They’ll be advice from a local legal professional on drafting wills and trusts for people with learning disabilities.

Its being run by Mencap at the Hotel Rembrandt on Dorchester Road from 12.30 till 2.30pm.

Aarti Gupta, Mencap’s in-house wills and trusts solicitor, says:

“Parents often worry about how their loved one will manage their financial affairs when they are no longer around. They may be concerned that inheriting a large amount of money may leave them in a vulnerable position and they may also want to ensure that their loved one is able to benefit from their full inheritance.

“When you have a loved one with a learning disability, it is important to have measures in place to ensure a secure financial future for your family. This seminar is an ideal place to get started – you will be able to find valuable information and legal advice on wills and trusts, as well as gaining peace of mind.”
