New Windfarm Planned To Go Up Near Dorchester

A British renewable energy company who want to put seven wind turbines by two villages north of Dorchester are offering cash to the local community.
Broadview Energy Limited are holding public exhibitions on the 22nd of October for the proposed Slyer's Lane Wind Farm which would be on farm land east of the villages of Charminster and Charlton Down. They're inviting residents along to see the plans, meet their team, and give them any feedback.
The company are proposing to donate money raised from the farm into a community fund which, they say, could amount to in excess of £1.7 million over the project's 25 year life if there are seven turbines installed.
Programme Manager, Tom Cosgrove told Wessex FM that the money would "hopefully be distributed and spent by the community on projects that are important to them."
"We're at a very early stage at the moment, so it's impossible to say what the final proposal might look like if it does go ahead. At this stage we're inviting residents along on the 22nd of October to come and meet with us so that we can show them in more detail what we might be proposing and how the plans could look if they go ahead."
