Walk To School Month

4:30pm 8th October 2013

If you spot more children than usual pounding Dorset's pavements it could be because it's International Walk to School Month (October).

According to Dorset County Council, who want more locals to get involved, around 60% of children in Dorset are getting lifts in cars.

Some schools in Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester have also embraced the idea and will be awarding challenger badges to those who get up on their feet, and be holding 'walk once a week' challenges.
