Coroner Rules Accidental Death in Purbeck Isle Tragedy
9:06am 9th October 2013
Poor boat condition, likely led to the accidental deaths of the 3 fisherman on-board the Purbeck Isle, a Coroner has said.
An inquest into the tragedy recorded the boat probably sank due to water flooding through decking, a degenerating hull and an unstable load.
Weymouth fishermen, David McFarlane, Jack Craig and Robert Prowse all lost their lives when the whelking vessel sank off Portland Bill in May last year (2012).
