Yachtsman Suffers Head Injury

A sailor was taken to hospital yesterday after being struck in the face when the mast of his yacht snapped.
The 73-year-old was taking part in a Weymouth Sailing Club Race.
He suffered a head injury.
He was a crewman on a Squib sailing dinghy when the accident happened around one mile east of Weymouth Harbour.
Weymouth Sailing Club safety boat raised the alarm and Portland Coastguard tasked the Inshore Lifeboat.
The man was taken back to shore by Weymouth lifeboat crew who also administered first aid.
