Nearly 400 local business leaders attended Dorset's first Local Enterprise Partnership conference on Friday.
Founded last year, the LEP was set up to boost local businesses, create more highly skilled jobs and put Dorset in a strong position for the future.
It has brought in and allocated 50 million pounds worth of government funding and predicts to bring in another 40 million in the next 6 years.
Topics that were addresses included Q&A's on the sustainability of rural businesses, issues of public transport and availability of broadband.
