DEFRA has said "We haven't made a decisions about badger culling in Dorset yet".
Calls have been made to extend the pilot in Gloucestershire after the number of badgers killed there, fell short of killing the target of 70% of the badger population.
Dorset has been on standby as a 3rd culling zone in the pilot scheme, that includes Somerset.
Vice President of the National Farmers Union Adam Quinney told Wessex FM Dorset won't be in immediate plans to extend the cull.
"We have to wait for the independent panel to assess the effectiveness, the safety and humaness of the 2 pilot areas in Somerset and Gloucestershire before any other licesnes can be issued.
I know a lot of work has gone on in Dorset in preparing the area for a cull, as a reserve area, but until that independent panel makes those assesment there cna be no new licenses issued."
