An ice rink, a herd of Reindeer and a father Christmas grotto.
That's what shoppers in Weymouth are getting for Christmas this December with the return of Victorian Shownight.
Weymouth BID have announced they've given the tender to run the evening to Roger Dalton Associates for the next 3 years.
Shops are being encouraged to set up stalls and have staff dressed in Victorian costume for the Christmas Lights switch on on Friday 6th December.
Nigel Reed, Weymouth BID Manager said "The board of Directors are delighted to be working with Roger Dalton Associates as our Events company for the next 3 years. Roger Dalton and his team have demonstrated their experience and skill in delivering high quality events in Weymouth over a number of years including the Dorset Seafood Festival and events held at Brewers Quay. I am sure that the Victorian Shownight will be one to be remembered and we encourage all businesses to get involved "
Roger Dalton, Event Organiser said "We are very proud to have been awarded the Events Tender for the Weymouth BID. We have lots of exciting events planned for Shownight including an Ice Rink, a herd of Reindeers, Father Christmas Grotto, outdoor stalls and shops participating in the Victorian theme - our aim is to create an atmosphere "Just how Christmas used to be". Mr Dalton went on to say " We are encouraging businesses to join in the fun by setting up stalls outside their premises or to have staff dressed in Victorian costume. Shops can also run events inside their own businesses with special offers for customers."
