8:10am 24th October 2013

A Dorset woman has been crowned UK worker of the year!

Judi James, a farmer from Littlebreedy, was recognised for setting up her own Freedom Foods veal production unit while carrying out her daily faming duties.

The 53 year old was chosen by an audience to win the award.

A delighted Judi, said: "I can't believe I've won. To think I've been recognised for my years of hard work has made me incredibly happy. It's a lot more than winning a car or a motorbike. The title of UK Worker of the Year means so much to me and I'll always cherish this moment."

She beat 7 other finalists to the top prize at a special ceremony at the Reading Football Clubs Madejski Stadium.
