Different Kind of Shop Coming to Dorchester
9:40am 25th October 2013
A group of churches have joined together to take over a store on Dorchester's High Street during December.
They're planning to have different festive themes inside the shop on South Street every day of the month, with crafts and activities also going on inside, all for free.
The store will be where Bryter Latte currently stands and will be called The Real Christmas Gift.
Gary Fry, a leader of one of the churches involved, spoke to Wessex FM about why they chose to take over a shop, "there's a number of churches that have wanted to do something relevant, that's going to meet people where they're at, that's going to be a blessing to people over Christmas, particularly in these difficult times- and just show another side of Chritmas; that's not commercialised, that's family-orientated, that's people, that's fun.."
Gary continued to say he would be particularly looking forward to the Nativity-themed Photograph area, "So you'll be able to bring in your friends, your family, your work colleagues and pose in a sort-of set, and we'll then take pictures for you to put on your Christmas cards or have printed out just for a bit of fun!"
The Real Christmas Gift will open on the 1st of December.
