Dorset Woman Sets Up Romania Charity
12:03am 27th October 2013
A Dorchester woman who volunteered in a Romanian Orphange was so moved by their plight she's set up her own charity.
The Charity's been set up by Tish Roberts from Winterbourne Steepleton and is called Heart Response, she hopes to support marginalised and vunerable women and children in Romania.
After Tish Roberts visited the Sanctuary Orphange last year she said she knew she had to help them. She brought back many photos and stories and managed to persuaded her workplace, Dorchester's Tourist Information Centre, to get involved and help her raise money too.
They are currently collecting Christmas Gifts in the TIC that'll be taken to the orphans at the end of next month (November), you can see the suitcase in store. There's also a Quiz - How Well Do You Know Dorchester?- that can be bought at the TIC for £1 with all proceeds going to the charity.
