May The Force Be With You

Star Wars Group

8:09am 30th October 2013

A collection of world famous Star Wars memorabilia that went up for auction in Dorchester has sold for £7,000.

Dozens of people were bidding on the items that included a life size figure of Yoda, a replica light sabre and a rare Land Speeder at Dukes yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 29th October).

Many of the figures were bought by local buyers.

Speaking to Wessex FM Auctioneer and Valuer Matthew Denney

"All the items sold really well, we had lots of people from right across the country taking an interest and all the lots have gone to new homes."

Matthew said a number of the items were bought by people living locally in Dorset, and that these types of lots featuring memorabilia from popular culture spring up every now and then;

"We sell loads of different things here at Dukes. It may not be our everyday fair but we're quite used to selling unusual and different collections. Star Wars things we'll have every now then we get a few pieces, it was just nice to have a big, well-chosen collection like this one coming to auction."
