Calls To Save Budget For Portland Gardens

weymouth and portland

8:16am 31st October 2013

Plans to pull the budget for looking after Victoria and Easton Gardens on Portland have been branded as unacceptable.

5 councillors are now demanding the Borough Council rethinks its decision and keeps the gardens open.

The local authority wants to consider giving the job to local community groups as part of a money saving measure.

Councillor Paul Kimber will put forward the argument at a full council meeting on Thursday 7 November.

He's being supported by Margaret Leicester, David Hawkins, Ray Nowak and Amanda Munro.
