Dorset Wrestling Success Continues with Fight Night
7:25am 1st November 2013
The men behind Weymouth's first ever wrestling federation say they're going from strength to strength.
Dorset Championship Wrestling, known as DCW, was created by a group of friends last month after the sports main companies collapsed in the county nearly 10 years ago. Since then they've performed in front of sell-out crowds at the Riviera Hotel and the Pavilion while raising hundreds of pounds for charity.
Tonight (Friday 1st November) they splash down at Weymouth Pavilion for what Champion Robbie Nitro says the biggest event DCW has been a part with top names on the bill;
"We've managed to land an ex-WWE NXT superstar, which has never happened in Weymouth before. This guy is called Zulu Warrior. We've got UK stars, American stars and Canadian stars all coming down to this one event."
WWE NXT is the training area for future WWE superstars who're halfway to achieving their dream of performing in front of millions of people on the world's biggest and most famous platform in professional wrestling.
There are a whole host of matches, single, tag team and TKO, scheduled tonight. Champion Robbie is taking-on his arch nemesis Myke Madness, who towers over him at 6 foot 5, in a last man standing knockout match for the belt.
"He's a 6 footer so he's a bit of a monster, we've had a bit of a war going where I beat him and then he beat me so we've got a bit of a score to settle."
Doors at the Pavilion open at 7pm with starting bell set for 7:30pm. Tickets have been selling fast and are priced at £7 each. You can buy a ticket from the Pavilion or on the door tonight.
Robbie is excited; "It's gonna be an epic show, it's gonna blow all shows out of the water, this show is international."
