Model Railway Buffs Steam Into Weymouth
9:29am 2nd November 2013
What's billed as the biggest Model Railway show in the West Country steams into Weymouth this weekend.
Model train enthusiasts will be able to cast their eye over 30 different layouts at Wey Valley school.
Railway author and local historian - Paul Atterbury from the Antiques Roadshow will be judging the best lay out today.
Says Association chairman Keith Pratt, "Shows are an important part of the hobby because model shops all over the country are closing and there are few places outside clubs like ours where you can get expert advice. The choice of locos and rolling stock on offer by traders is huge and reliable second hand models are a cost effective way for beginners to get into the hobby."
